Living In The Pacific Northwest

Living in the Pacific Northwest has to be one of the best experiences one can have. Even though I live and work in one of the countries largest metropolitan areas, nature is always close at hand. Last night as I left work in Buckley I passed a herd of twenty to thirty elk grazing in the dusk just outside of town. Then this morning while walking the tenth of a mile to get the morning paper I saw a flicker sitting in a tree top. As I returned to our house a bald eagle flew low over the house and west into the woods under the power lines where it nests. And then from the northwest came two ducks on their approach to the pond in the neighbors wood. We may get more than our share of drizzle and rain, but when it is coupled with the closeness of nature we enjoy the dampness is worth the chill.
